Bed management is central to the service provided by NHS Trusts. Co-ordinating patients and beds is a
significant logistical challenge and it is essential that beds are managed efficiently to meet patients' needs. Hospitals and Trusts need to deal
with both emergencies and planned admissions, and ensure that patients are placed in appropriate wards. The entire flow of patients - admission,
inpatient treatment and discharge - relies on efficient bed management.
The considerable impact of bed management across a Trust has led to Government consideration of the issue. Through the NHS Modernisation Agency, the
Government expects Trusts in England to ensure they have well organised bed management.
Our solution
Alpha Zero designed and developed a Bed Management solution to ensure efficient and well organised bed management which maximises benefits to
patients and is also a cost effective solution.
The solution is an integrated web-based system that supports Trusts in managing their bed states. It can be integrated to existing patient record
systems and provides 24-7 access to current patient information. It is a scalable, flexible and location independent solution. It offers individual
user logins, menu and access rights geared to support the roles of individuals within a Trust. It is a practical and intuitive solution that is easy
to implement and requires minimal user training.
