Alpha Zero consultants have been engaged on the development of a Global Sourcing Strategy for the outsourcing of IT development for a Global IT Services Company located in the City of London.
The key objective was to define the strategic approach to outsourcing IT development. The project included a detailed analysis of IT development providers around the globe. This was followed by location visits to a short list of suppliers around the world. Location visits were proceeded by the arrangement and facilitation of technology "show and tell" sessions to demonstrate supplier capabilities. Detailed reports and recommendations at country and supplier level were prepared to provide the client with a comprehensive understanding of what is available.
Internal work was also carried out to "get ready for outsourcing" including; definition of likely candidate projects, definition of governance, organization and roles to support outsourcing; identification of development process changes; understanding the change management support for implementation of outsourcing and definition and negotiation of commercial arrangements and supporting measures for success. Work continues, with excellent feedback on Alpha Zero's input and direction so far.
